Characteristics of the handkerchiefs left at the crime scene and the way they may have been used
In addition to clothes and the weapon, the perpetrator left two handkerchiefs before escaping from the crime scene.One of the handkerchiefs had what appeared to be a hole cut near the center. The hole measured about three centimeters long.
Judging by the way it was found at the crime scene, we suspect the perpetrator created a kind of pouch by tucking one corner of the handkerchief through the hole. The perpetrator then may have slid the knife handle through the hole (as well) before committing the murder.
We have found that handkerchiefs are used in a unique and related way at marine product processing factories in China. Handkerchiefs allow for a firm grip on knives and other equipment when workers clean fish.
We are now seeking additional information on handkerchiefs, especially how they may be used.
