On and around November 29, 1999, inside a building in Torigoe 2-chome, Taito-ku, Tokyo, he murdered an Indian jewelry dealer (then aged 42) with a knife numerous times and set fire to the building. He then used the victim’s credit card to withdraw about 12 million yen and fled abroad.
